State Sports Minister, Hon Charles Bakabulindi is expected to grace the climax of the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) congress and awards gala. The Federation administrator, John Baptist Kateregga confirmed to Kawowo Sports;

We expect the minister to grace the congress and the awards.

Woodball is one of the fastest growing sports in Uganda having been introduced in the country 7 years ago.
Uganda remains best woodball playing nation on the African continent.

In just 2014 alone, Uganda participated in 6 international events across the globe including the woodball world cup.
As per the latest Uganda Woodball calendar for the year 2015, there are over 12 events lined up for the local players with several refresher courses lined up for officials and players alike.

The game has spread drastically from the confines of Kampala to as far as Lynatonde, West Nile and the East.
At the recently concluded 9th Eastern African Games (won by Uganda’s Ndejje University), Woodball was one of the games played for the first time.

At last week’s Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) January assembly, Joel Adupa and Joan Mukoova were voted as the best woodball players for the year, 2014.
