Group D: Mali 1-1 Cameroon
Mali and Cameroon’s 1 all result on Tuesday tallied to the 5th draw of the AFCON 2015 finals in Equatorial Guinea after the opening 8 group stage fixtures on match day 4.
Ambroise Oyongo scored his first goal for Cameroon to rescue a point against Mali in their opening match.
The right-back charged into the penalty area to collect a pass from Raoul Loe and controlled brilliantly before slotting home from close range.
Sambou Yatabare had put Mali ahead when he drilled home a low shot from inside the six-yard box.
Yatabare thought he had won it in the final minute when he headed home a free-kick but he was flagged offside.
Mali had made the better first-half chances with Wolves midfielder Bakary Sako twice denied by Fabrice Ondoa.
Match referee, Janny Sikazwe cancelled Sambou Yatabare’s diving header on the 90th minute mark for a clear off-side following Seydou Keita’s wonderful delivery off a free-kick in what marked the last action of the exciting game.
With the earlier draw of the group involving Guinea and Ivory Coast, Group D is all square for all teams on all aspects after one game played for each of the games.
