Cameroon and Guinea settled for a 1-1 draw in Malago, Equatorial Guinea on Saturday in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament leaving Group D wide open.
All teams will now head into the last group stage with two points each after Mali’s 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast earlier in the same groups.
Benjamin Moukandjo scored direct from a corner in the 13th minute, a near-post delivery into the roof of the net to put Cameroon ahead but Guinea equalized shortly before half-time courtesy of Ibrahima Traore’s strike.
Volker Finke’s Cameroon domimated the proceedings and had better openings in the second half as Vincent Aboubakar came close with a header that just went wide.
Captain Stephane Mbia also headed wide when in the area for Cameroon in stoppage time as the side upped the tempo in search of a winner.
There was drama when Ibrahima Conte had strong penalty claims dismissed for Guinea when he appeared to be forced to ground by Jerome Guihoata.
Cameroon and Guinea now enter the final group stage round all stuck at two points each. Guinea will face Mali while Cameroon will have to defeat Ivory Coast on Wednesday.
