Uganda Sand Cranes player, Hamim Semakula single handedly master-minded Kayunga Town Council’s 11-2 victory over Mutesa 1 Royal University in the pepsi beach soccer league at Lido beach in Entebbe.
The forward scored 5 times to add to Paul Kato’s hat-trick.
Other goals came from Mustafa Kasule, Peter Wasswa and Julius Fulinda.
The victory is a clear manifestation that Kayunga maintain the leadership status of the Hurriken group.
It was a great game we had.We target to finish top and have a fair quarter final opponent
Semakula remarked after the game.
Other games in the Hurriken group had Kampala International University (KIU) nip Dalumba Richomonds 6-5.
Dalumba scored through their captain Paul Lwere, John Kokas Opejo, Robert Kawesi and Martin Muleega.
KIU scored through a double set of hat-tricks from Ismail Kagingo and Steven Canon.
International University of East Africa picked a walk over Braza Braza.
In the biggest shock of the day St Lawrence University humiliated last season’s runners up, Nkumba Select, 8-1.
Sanalleh Kiggundu picked a quick hat-trick before Phillip Rwezaula notched a brace.
Other three (3) goals came from David Awori, Pius Mbidde and Emmanuel Kalyowa.
In the Moonson group, MUBS overcame Stormers 6-2. Sand Cranes forward, Brian Nkuubi notched a hat-trick before Baker Lukooya, Joackim Golooba and Elvis Kasujja completed Stormers’ misery.
Mathias Kigonya’s brace was the only consolation for Stormers.
Talented lost to Real Galacticals 2-5, YMCA walloped Sand Pirates 7-2 and Buwanika Bulls were 3-2 winners over Zaba Super Market.
The Pepsi beach soccer league resumes with week 10 action on 8th February 2015.
