National table tennis player and Uganda Sports Press Association women’s player of the year Aminah Lukaya, sealed her position as the country’s number one table tennis player winning the “Battle of Aminah’s” beating her namesake Aminah Namaganda 3-2, 11-7, 13-11, 5-11, 5-11, 13-11 at Kololo Secondary School in the national women’s ranking championships on Monday.
Uganda Table Tennis Association was using the tournament to rank the the women’s table players in the country and also identify players for the team that will represent the nation at the All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo this year.
Lukaya won all her 16 games in the one day ranking tournament and assumed the position of the top table tennis player of the country. The national men’s table tennis ranking will be held next weekend at the same venue and will pit top players like top player Kevin Mafabi, Ronald Nyaika, Gilton Chelebi, Paul Mutambuze.
