KCC FC coach Abdallah Mubiru has confirmed attacking midfielder Michael Birungi will miss the crucial tie against Cameroon’s Cosmos De Bafia in the CAF Champions League.
The speedy winger hasn’t trained with the team since resumption of training on Monday after robbers attacked him and left him with sores of wounds.
Mubiru says he is not even sure of having in the squad for the return leg but admits he has enough options for his replacement.
“Birungi is automatically out of the first leg and not sure he will be fit in time for the return leg,” Coach Abdallah Mubiru said as quoted by the club’s official website.
On any other injury update from the camp, the soft spoken also revealed that striker Francis Olaki is a doubt for the tie after limping out of training on Tuesday.
“For Olaki, he will undergo a scan on Friday and we see the extent of the injury to make a decision. We still have options who I believe can still do the job.”
Olaki missed training on Wednesday and was also unavailable as KCC beat Water FC 2-0 in a friendly at Namboole.
