Uganda Premier League:

Entebbe F.C 0-1 KCC F.C

The early rains prior to the ground breaking fixture between Entebbe F.C and visitors, Kampala City Council (KCC) football club were at first perceived by residents as a good omen sign.

The bold and real answer is no. KCC F.C left the newly refurbished Bugonga ground, Entebbe F.C’s new home with the loudest and last smiles – winning with a narrow 0-1 goal margin and were delighted to pocket the three points in the bag.

KCC Coach, Abduallah Mubiru called for several changes from the side that started in the side’s 1-0 CAF champions league victory over Cameroon Opposition, Cosmos De Bafia F.C last Saturday.

Defender, Ronnie Kiseeka (injured) paved way for youngster, Timothy Awani as team skipper, Saaka Mpiima was replaced by Isaac Ntege at right back.

Stylish left winger, Joseph Ochaya started his first ever game under the stewardship of Abduallah Mubiru, following FIFA’s clearance.

The day’s skipper, Tom Matisko won and scored a 44th minute penalty after defender, Farouq Katongole needlessly felled him in the forbidden area.

Matisko calmly drove the ball to goal keeper, Umar Mayanja’s left and the latter dived to his right.

Entebbe F.C had several opportunities to make amends but suspect finishing from Moses Nana and the aggressive Godfrey Kizimula cost the lake side team dearest.

The visitors themselves had several chances to double the lead had Herman Wasswa not fired blanks on two different occasions.

KCC were also denied what looked like a clear penalty when defender Moses Ssekasana brought down Derrick Nsiimbe in the area.

Nsiimbe had replaced William Wadri in a rare first half change after 35 minutes. Mubiru’s other change on the day was forward Paul Mucureezi who replaced a seemingly limping Tom Matisko.
