Uganda’s top swimming clubs Dolphins and Seals swimming clubs dominated the two day National swimming trials that where held at Gems Cambridge International School at Butabika, Luzira on Saturday and Sunday.

The Kololo based Dolphins club swept the boys 14 and under, 800 meters freestyle taking all the four positions with Samora Byansi, Samora Lumonya and Siegfred Katumba, taking the first three positions in that order.

It was also a similar story in the girls 14 and under, 400 meter freestyle with Seals Swimming Club sweeping the entire event with Anthea Mudanyi, Mercedes Mwebeiha and Nicole Lutalo, all claiming the top three spots in that order.

The National swimming trials was being used by the Uganda Swimming Federation to select a side that will represent the country at the CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships due from 6 – 9 May 2015, Luanda, Angola.

Last year Uganda hosted the CANA Zone III and IV swimming championships finishing sixth out of 11 nations bagging finishing with 11 gold, 6 Silver and 9 bronze medals.

The trials had a total of 54 events with a total of 100 swimmers from various clubs.
