2nd Entebbe Woodball Open:

Winners: St Agnes Primary School (Primary) & Airforce S.S (Secondary)

St Agnes Primary (Bugonga) and Airforce Secondary schools emerged the overall winners in the Primary and Secondary Schools respective categories of the second Entebbe Woodball Championships.

St Agnes scored 314 strokes beating 4 other primary schools within Entebbe Municipality to be declared winners. Airforce on the other hand scored 267 strokes to get the better of Entebbe Parents Secondary school and win the tournament for the second year running.

Top Performers: St Agnes’ Moses Kyeyune had 30 strokes beating Entebbe Junior’s Jeff Kayongo (33) and Lake Victoria’s Latiff Tumusiime (34) to take the best accolade for the top performing male Junior player.

Resty Shema of St Agnes toppled all the girls with 34 strokes beating Lukiya Nakato of Lake Victoria (37) and Nalugala Muslim’s Jauhara Kayiizi 38 who finished second and third respectively.

In the secondary category, Airforce had a clean sweep of the top three positions in the boy’s event with Edson Tumwine, Mathias Kizito and Umar Ngobi scoring 27, 31 and 32 strokes respectively to take the top three positions.

The secondary girls’ event was won by Airforce’s Joanah Namuganga on countback (better scores) after a 35 strokes’ tie with Irene Dawa.

Jonaita Nalubega of Entebbe Parents closely followed by 36 strokes.

Participating Teams: The Uganda Woodball Federation event has 6 participating teams; Entebbe Junior Primary School, Nalugala Muslim Primary School, St. Agnes Primary School, Lake Victoria School, Entebbe Parents S.S and Airforce S.S.

Next on the Uganda Woodball Federation competitive calendar is the 6th Kyambogo Open Woodball Championship on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Kyambogo University where expect teams from Primary and Secondary Schools, Universities, Clubs and Corporate bodies to compete under the schools and clubs categories.
