URA FC skipper Simeon Masaba says his side put up a gallant performance against Orlando Pirates despite suffering a 2-1 loss at the Orlando stadium.
The right back was sensational on the day and believes playing the return leg at home gives them chance to trouble the Buccaneers and possibly edge them out.
“We played a top team today so we are happy with our performance. They did well to make use of their home advantage,” he said in a press conference.
“When we get to Kampala we will be at home, so it will be our turn. We will be ready for them. We didn’t have too much trouble.”
When quizzed on whether URA will use intimidation tactics when the Sea Robbers visit in a fortnight as its normally the case in Africa, Masaba made it clear that has never been part of URA’s game plan.
“Those things of intimidation & bad tactics aren’t part of our game plan. We are brothers off the field, but for 90 minutes it’s war.
His Coach Alex Isabirye also echoed the same sentiments and said the Pirates will enjoy their trip to Kampala.
“Uganda is a free country with great hospitality so Pirates will most definitely enjoy their trip to that side.
” The two sides face off in a fortnight with URA seeking just a 1-0 victory to end the Buccaneers dream in the campaign
