Match Day 21: Uganda Premier League Result:

KJT/Rwenshama F.C 0-3 Kira Young F.C – At Nakivubo Stadium

In what will go down as one of their best performances of the season, Kira Young Football Club has outclassed relegation bound KJT/Rwenshama F.C in a one sided encounter with a 0-3 triumph at Nakivubo war memorial stadium in the heart of Kampala on Tuesday.

After 20 dull opening minutes, the game came to life when Yudah Mugalu missed from distance after Brian Nkuubi’s well laid ball 10 yards from goal.

The hosts and their visitors entertained with short crispy passing with no threat at either goal for the remainder of half that ended goal-less.

Brian Nkuubi tapped home the opener 12 minutes after the game restart after the ‘donkey work’ from second half replacement, Patrick Kaddu, whose well laid ball into the area called for nothing but a calm finish.

Kaddu, who had replaced a wasteful Mugalu then ran riot with a quick brace that quickly earned him the man of the match accolade scoring in the 67th and 69th minutes.

His second on the day was as breathe-taking as the name itself- a calm finish from 25 yards after being played through by midfielder, Godfrey Sembatya.

The fancy dancing celebration after each strike was worth a reward on an opera night.

The forward’s urgency in front of goal would have paid fruitful dividends but suspect finishing remained the under-doing.

Red Cards:

The two sides finished the game with 10 men apiece for unsporting reasons.

Rwenshama’s Sam Mukasa saw red in the 50th minute for a foul on goal keeper, Ashadu Bugembe as U-23 left back, Fred Nkata earned a second booking to book an early shower as tempers flared on either sides towards the climax of the game.

The victory for Kira Young puts them on 21 points off 21 fixtures, same points as SCVU and Simba

KJT/Rwenshama is further condemned to their 14th defeat of the season after 20 games and they remain glued a slot from the bottom placed Entebbe F.C (Entebbe lost 2-3 at Soana in Kavumba).

In the other games played, defending champions suffered a shock 1-2 home defeat at the hands of Sadolin Paints F.C.

The Jinja side now completes a double over KCC after a 1-0 triumph in the first round at Bugembe Stadium on 17th October 2014.

Fred Ssegujja and Isaac Muyanga scored for Sadolin Paints as Herman Wasswa notched the Kasasiro’s strikes to paste more worry lines across the face of head coach, Abduallah Mubiru.

Entebbe F.C lost 3-2 at Kavumba recreational stadium to Soana F.C in a relegation battle fixture.

In Buikwe, U-23 team skipper, Farouk Miya scored a brace as Vipers overcame a gallant Lweza 2-1 to maintain their top spot at the summit of the league standings.

Former Vipers’ midfielder, Ddumba Sadala scored the visiting team’s consolation.

Match day 21 continues Friday (20th March 2015) with 5 fixtures on card across the different play grounds with Kampala’s hottest derby coming this soon as Express entertains 16 time league champions, Sports Club Villa at the dreaded Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
