This Saturday it’s the Old school versus the New School when Uganda Tennis Association president Cedric Babu takes on Uganda’s number 1 tennis player Duncan Mugabe in a highly anticipated clash at Center Court at the Lugogo Tennis Club.

The “Hype” has been building for close to three weeks for this game which will see the two battle it out in a tennis dual that has been organised by Kinetic Management.

“We always play but this time we playing for a good cause for the game if tennis,” Mugabe said. “He is my good friend so yea it wont be easy for me but I will still beat him and let him know I’m the king of my generation it will be fun that I know his has been working real hard so it wont be easy im sure he will be at his best.”

It will be the first time that the two will be facing each other the only time that the two have played alongside each other is in several doubles games. The challenge will also see the Uganda Tennis Association unveiling it’s plans for this year.

Babu, has been an integral part of Mugabe’s growth in tennis right from the time he was a kid up to this time and paid a glowing tribute to his opponent. 

“I am proud of what he has achieved on the tennis court,” Babu said.  “He has done well and will continue to get better so yes it is very emotional to see him all grown up and one of the best players in Africa.”

Mugabe is the All Africa games tennis bronze medallist.
