When Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojević was unveiled as Uganda Cranes coach in 2013, Sam Timbe and Kefa Kisala were also named as his assistants.
After a few months, Timbe moved on for greener pastures in Kenya, and it has been Kisala solely deputizing the Serbian with Fred Kajoba as the goalkeeping coach.
Crispus Muyinda was the team manager or coordinator with Fred Katede Malibu the media officers.
Micho’s relationship with the Cranes was extended until 2018 but at the moment he is the only member of the Cranes backroom staff known.
“Apart from the head coach who was on contract, the rest of the positions on the national team are vacant” FUFA head Moses Magogo said on Wednesday.
“For us to be able to name Micho’s assistants we needed coaches who have undertaken examinations of the CAF B and CAF A licenses and their results are not yet out.”
“We don’t want to take a decision and one of the coaches we have just named has failed the examinations.”
“All positions for the coaches, media, and coordinators are vacant until April 15, we believe by that time the executive will be able to name the personnel. If by that time we have received results from CAF we shall name the assistants” he added.
Chances of Micho working with a new backroom staff are high if the recent temporary assignments are anything to by. Magogo’s personal assistant Patrick Ntege played the managerial and media role when Uganda played against Nigeria.
