Dolphins swim club, donated Rice, Sugar, Soap, Maize flour to In Need Home Charity on Saturday in a brief ceremony that was held at Aga Khan Swimming Pool, Kololo.
The club together with parents of the swimmers decided to get items to donate children at the In Need Home, that is based in Namuwongo, which looks after need children that are vulnerable like orphans, children who have lost their parents from HIV, street children.
“It’s part of our Corporate Social Responsibility at this club to always find a way of helping vulnerable children since majority of our swimmers are children and find it a good cause to give to the needy,” Samuel Kalule, the chairman of Dolphins Swim Club said at the hand over ceremony that was conducted by the club swimmers and the project coordinator of the charity Michael Tumwesigye. “The kids feel delighted to be give the needy this donation and will continue doing so if need be.”
The hand over ceremony was conducted by Kalule and the captain’s of the boys swim team Darren Suubi and Suubi Byansi, infront of the club swimmers, coaches, parents and officials of the club.
“We are really grateful for this donation however little it is, but this will bring back a smile to the kids at the Home,” Tumwesigye said. “We really would like to thank all of you for this donation and hope to continue with this spirit.”
Dolphin swim club is a giant swimming club that has produced several national swimmers and junior swimmers for the country.
