Tempers flared as Real Galacticals lost 6-5 to the Stormers in National Beach Soccer league on Sunday.
The Galacticals’ players blamed FIFA referee, Shafik Mugerwa of biased officiation throughout the game with various questionable decisions that included counting a last gasp Meddie Nsubuga winner with 2 seconds to go.
Referee Mugerwa was the target as furious Galacticals’ players led by Denis Sserukwaya attempted to throw soda bottles at him.
Earlier, Mathias Kigonya had scored a hat trick before the other Stormers goals came from Misi Katende and Muhammed Kiyilika.
A brace apiece from Juma Ssentongo and John Revita plus Hamis Kafero had got the Galactico’s goals.
FUFA competitions secretary, also a retired Beach Soccer referee, Ali Mwebe, who was present at the ill fated match promised a quick communication about the incident and a final ruling in the days to come.
In the other matches played on the day, Abra Lubowa grabbed the headlines, scoring all the six goals in Zaba SuperMarket’s 6-5 victory over YMCA.
YMCA lost their second game on the day in a breathtaking 3-2 result to MUBS.
Derrick Tekkwo, the YMCA skipper and Kenneth Ssazi scored for the Wandegeya based team as Brian Nkuubi, Baker Lukooya and Joachim Gooloba netted for MUBS.
Nkumba Select was nipped 4-1 by Braza Braza in another shocking result.
Katabi Jamada scored a beautiful hat-trick before Godfrey Lubangakene got the other.
Dan Ssekabembe Nsubuga, who also plays for SCVU in the national football league scored Nkumba Select’s only consolation on the day.
The league will resume on 26th April 2015 with match day 15 fixtures.
The quarter final playoffs and eventual league climax will come later in May 2015.
