Kenya Pipeline Volleyball Club setter Janat Wanja will lead Kenya’s quests for one of the two slots at the 2014 All Africa Games qualifiers that start in Kampala from April 20-26.

Wanja who has been playing for the national team since 2005, replaces Brackcides Agala as captain, the latter is playing professional volleyball in France and wouldn’t be releases together with Jane Wacu the other setter.

The 32-year old Wanja told journalist after she was unveiled at the Safaricom Indoor Arena in Kasarani on Thursday morning.

Wanja and six other players from are Kenya Pipeline and the rest from Kenya Prisons selected for this assignment.

The team leaves for Kampala by road on Sunday.

Kenya, Egypt, Uganda, Burundi and Ethiopia are vying for the two available slots of the All Africa Games finals in Congo Brazzaville in September.
