The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) President, Sabiiti Muwanga has urged Government to boost the budgetary allocations for sports as one way of uniting Ugandans.
Muwanga was officiating at the monthly sports assembly for the sports journalists in Eastern Uganda at Wash and Wills Hotel in Mbale district on Friday.
The journalists are under the Eastern Sports Press Association (ESPA) which is affiliated to USPA.
According to Muwanga, over 5billion shilling is budgeted for patriotism every financial year in various institutions.
If some of the money is also channeled to sports such as the support of the national football team, the Cranes, Ugandans will be more united. Since sports brings together all Ugandans irrespective of political party affiliation, it should be supported since it also showcases the love Ugandans have for their country.
