We are so happy to have won it at home. Adequate preparations and  the unquestionable team work has been a key element for this victory.

Kenya finished 4th on 15.5 points, Zimbabwe too the 3rd place (16.5) and South Africa finished runners up with 17.5 points

Final Day Drama:

South Africa’s Teagan Gauche and Namibia’s Paul Ndeilenga were disqualified at the onset of the final day for failure to honour the official tee off time.

Gauche was to play Kenya’s Robinson Owiti at 8.20 am, but reported 10 minutes late for his game while Ndeilenga was to play Swaziland’s James Pennington at 8.10 am, but never showed up for his game too.

Two Ugandans, Robert Oluba and Ronald Otile lost their games before the 6 other players on the team all won their games in different fashion.

Winning captain, Adolf Muhumuza has hailed the level of commitment by his Ugandan teammates.

We played as a unit, everything we did was as a result of teamwork. We thank the management (Uganda Golf Union and the technical personnel), the caddies, green keepers, sponsors and every one who did something possible to help team Uganda win on home turf.

Uganda becomes the third country to win the Zone six championship after South Africa (19 times) and Kenya (in 2010).

The next Zone VI championship (2016) will be held in Swaziland.
