Fr. Grimes Schools’ Chess Championship

Friday 24th April-  28th April 2015

At St. Mary’s College Kisubi.

All eyes will be set on the defending champions of the Father Grimes chess tournament, St. Mbuga secondary school.
 
The Makindye based school, boosting of an array of stars in the game will probably face spirited competition from a rejuvenated Namilyango College, Jinja College, Mwiri, and Namasagali among others.
 
Trinity College Nabbingo, Makerere College, Lubiri SSS, and Mt. Of Olives Kakiri will all be in action.

    This year’s event will also mark the commencement of competition in the Primary Schools Category, which will attract Savio, Mugwanya Preparatory School and St. Joseph Nabbingo

A statement released by Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) reads.
 
The schools championships have in the past given rise to a number of big guns in the game including the likes of FM Arthur Ssegwanyi, CM Patrick Kawuma (Namilyango College) and Phiona Mutesi (St. Mbuga) among others.
