National golf team coach Amos Kamya, has instilled a magic touch of success with the national golf team after just two year’s in this position which has seen him steer the Team Uganda to two victories first the East African golf challenge and now the 2015 Africa Zone VI golf championship.
Kamya, last year won the East African challenge with Phillip Kasozi, as his captain who later turned professional this year he then lost, last year the East Africa Community Shield with new team captain by Adolf Muhumuza to Kenya in what was termed as sweet revenge by the Kenyans have lost the East African Challenge in Entebbe.
He also lost the President Cup last year in Lusaka, Zambia.
“When you want to be a champion you have to beat a champion. Idi Amin once said if you want to win a boxing fight you have to knock-out your opponent instead of going to the cards for the final score.”
Kamya stated during the Africa Zone VI championship.
Kamya will now have to travel once again with the junior team for the Africa junior championships in Lusaka, Zambia later this month and then return to prepare the national team for the All Africa Golf Championships in October in Limuru, Kenya then later in the year they will play in the President’s Cup and also defending the East African golf challenge in Kigali, Rwanda with finally ending the season by playing in the East Africa Community golf shield.
