Minnesota based lightweight Ismail “Sharp Shooter” Muwendo, was too “Sharp” for American Rolando Chinea as he registered a majority victory on Saturday at the University of Texas, Arlington, Texas, USA as he kept his unbeaten streak intact.
The two fighters fought the entire fight each going to the head and body the entire fight.
Muwendo continuously landed the bigger punches, but Chinea kept coming forward. Muwendo landed overhand rights and upper cuts to the game Chinea.
Although the Ugandan fighter seemed to clearly win the fight one judge scored it 76-76. The other two came in at 78-74, 79-73 respectively for the majority decision for Muwendo.
The 8 round fight was watched by Bob Arum, the promoter and owner of Top Rank promotions and also was shown on HBO, After Dark.
Muwendo has now improved to 17-0,(12 KOs). while Chinea has dropped to 10-1(6 KOs).
