The Uganda National Golf Team that recently won the Africa Zone VI golf championship for the first time at the Uganda Golf Club are basking in their glory after achieving victory in the 9 nation tournament.

The team this morning received 10 million shillings from the Ruparelia Foundation with each of the players on the winning team pocketing 1 million together with the coach for the history victory last Saturday.

Team Uganda that is led by captain Adolf Muhumuza, received the money from the foundation’s trustee who is an avid golfer Rajiv Ruparelia at Crane Chambers as the team was set to depart for a Grand party being organised today by the Toro Golf Club in Fort Portal.

Uganda beat South Africa, who were the favorities and defending champions having won the tournament a record 19 times the other country that has won it is Kenya in 2010.

The team is yet to attend a State Dinner that the President of Uganda promised after this history victory.
