She Cranes netball team is not at any one moment happy with the training facilities at their disposal ahead of the Netball World Cup the side is to feature in, August, this year.
The side have moved a request to the National Council of Sports, a Sports governing body in Uganda to help them secure better facilities.
The players failed to appreciate the Nakivubo training grounds and were later moved to Namboole Stadium but according to Desire Obua, one of the players, the change was really insignificant.
She says Lugogo indoor Stadium would be far better ahead of the 14th Netball World Cup to be held from 7th-16 August in Sydney, Australia.
“The state of the facilities we use is so poor. Look at Nakivubo where we are training fromat the moment. It is sub-standard compared to the facilities we are going to use at World Cup.
“So I call upon the National Council of Sports to allow the team train from Lugogo,” she told local media.
The She cranes team qualified for the Netball World Cup after defeating Swaziland 51-38 in the Netball World Cup qualifiers for Africa in Gaborone, Botswana in September last year.
The financially constrained team began with a win over Zambia before snatching another against Zimbabwe then dispatched Botswana.
Before the World Cup, the team is expected to have trial matches in South Africa and UK. They are however still bound by problems of inadequate funds for the trip.
