Toro golf club’s Ronald Otile, was the youngest player on Team Uganda’s winning side at the Africa Zone VI golf championship at the Uganda Golf Club, but he believes that victory for his nation at claiming this team event as the greatest in his career.
“It was a great win that I believe is the greatest for my career,” the 19 year old Toro golf club player stated. “It will go in a long way in motivating me and the rest at the same time it has boosted our confidence when we play together as a team.”
Otile scored a total of 3.0 points for Team Uganda as they halted South Africa’s run to claim a 20th title at our home course. Uganda won the tournament for the first time with a total of 18.5 points and become only the third nation to win this tournament that has been dominated by South Africa.
“I also believe the sponsorship that I got last year was a major boost for me,” Otile is sponsored by Eskom. “With out sponsorship it can be difficult for you to play well on various courses and in tournaments and those challenges can really bring your game down.”
