The All African Games qualifiers of Ladies Volleyball came to end on Sunday, with Kenya emerging the champion and Egypt second out the five the countries that took part in the week long tourney.

Kenya and Egypt booked themselves tickets to the finals of the All African Games due to September in Congo, Brazzaville.

Ethiopia came third after collecting wins against Uganda and Burundi respectively.  

Hosts Uganda came fourth after putting up a dull performance that saw them win only one game in the entire tournament. Lady Volleyball Cranes’ only victory came against tournament minnows Burundi in the opening fixture.

After the Burundi victory, Uganda never tasted victory for the rest their games as they lost against Egypt, Ethiopia and eventual winners Kenya.

Burundi dubbed the ‘college girls’ earned cheap popularity as qualification was not on their menu and came last in the tournament.

Edgar Kalungi, the Chairman local organizing committee heaped praise on organizing team. “I think we have succeeded in whatever we did. We have not received any complaints since day one up to the end.  Credit goes to my team.”
