KCC FC 1-0 Lweza FC
Herman Wasswa struck the only goal of the game as KCC FC beat Lweza 1-0 in the first leg of the Uganda Cup semi-final in a game played Phillip Omondi stadium.
The visitors were the better side in the opening exchanges of the game forcing a number of corners but were denied by poor finishing in front of goal.
They were punished in the 28th minute when Wasswa’s header off Paul Mucureezi’s cross hit the back of the net.
There was however little piece of action after the goal with either side missing opportunities though Lweza looked livelier than their hosts.
The result means KCC FC will need just to draw the return leg on Sunday May 3 at Phillip Omondi stadium, Wankulukuku to reach the finals while Lweza need to win at least 2-0.
REACTIONS:
Abdallah Mubiru – KCC FC Coach.
“It’s a disappointing performance though we won the game. The boys didn’t play their hearts out and looked panicky. We need to be cautious ahead of the return leg.
Hamza Kalanzi – Lweza FC Coach
“It’s not a bad result away from home against KCC FC. I think inexperienced cost us as we gave opportunity to many young players but it’s a result we can overturn at home come next Sunday.
