Reigning Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia maintained their status at the top of the log after edging Ushuru FC 2-0. Ugandan born Rwandan international Meddie Kagere and Kenyan new kid on the block Michael Olunga scored for Frank Nuttal side.
Ugandan internationals Godfrey Walusimbi and Aucho Khalid featured for the champions with the latter withdrawn in the 90th minute for Eric Ochieng.
Robert Omunuk, Allan Kateregga and Evans Kiwanuka also featured for the Tax Men.
Gor Mahia stay top of the 16 team table with 20 points having played 8 games.
Elsewhere, Paul Nkata’s Nairobi City Stars lost yet another game as they fall 1-0 to Thika United.
Jackson Macharia scored the only goal of the game for Thika United which is home to former Bunamwaya custodian Hamza Muwonge.
Ugandans Bruno Sserunkuma and Ismail Kambugu play for Nkata’s City Stars which stay second from bottom on the league log.
In other fixtures on the weekend, Tusker FC beat AFC Leopards 1-0 with Kevin Kimani scoring the all-important goal for the Brewers; Muhoroni beat Western Stima 1-0 while Chemelil Sugar were 3-1 losers to Sony Sugars.
Former KCC FC striker Andrew Ssekayombya was among the goals for Sony Sugars.
