Jinja College Vs Mvara – Noon (Group E)
In a rather surprising communication, the office of the president of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has confirmed that the number one citizen ‘might’ officiate at the opening of the 2015 national football championships.
The communication was delivered on Sunday night as the tournament draws were being held at the Duhaga secondary school main hall.
We expect His Excellency the president of Uganda to be at the opening ceremony on Monday
Fred Barenzi told the schools’ representatives before the draws.
This is the 23rd edition of the schools’ football championship were 59 schools and 1200 players have been confirmed.
Many of the schools were successfully screened on Sunday upon arrival.
Many of the school head of sports departments were shocked by the news of President Museveni’s coming.
Is it because of the numbers that president Museveni is finally picking interest in schools’ football?

Screening of Players:
Many of the schools were successfully screened on Sunday upon arrival to check on the numbers of non students featuring in the tournament.
The tournament starts Monday with several games lined up.
Record champions, Kibuli S.S were pooled in group G alongside Agape, Timuna, Wagwa High, London College and Kaberamaido.
Favourites, St Mary’s Kitende lie in the ‘group of Death’ – E with Jinja College, St Leos’ College, Kyogobe, Mbale Progressive, Mvara S.S, Masaba S.S and Risah Standard college, Lugazi.
Debutants, Amus College school from Kumi is pitted in group F with fellow roommates at the tourney, Lubiri S.S.
The other teams are; Nawanyago, Rock High, Welden, Kiboga Progressive, Kigezi High School, Kitgum High.
Nimrod Kintu, the head coach at Amus College believes his youngsters will shock many.
We are totally underdogs and we enjoy that status but many should watch out. We expect to see free flowing football
Format of Play:
The teams shall play on a round robin format with the two two teams per group making it to the last 16.
One match is played per school in a day.
Groups with 7 teams have a rest day of each school per day.
