Opening Game: Duhaga (Host) Vs Kakungulu Memorial (2 p.m) – Boma Ground

National schools football record champions, Kibuli S.S won their second fixture 2-0 over London College, Nansana at the on-going national secondary schools’ football championship at the Jubilee play ground in Duhaga S.S, Hoima, on Thursday.

Burly forward, Godfrey Bayo gave the 10 time title holders the lead after just 6 minutes into the game for a solid start of the favorites, coached by KCC F.C head coach, Abdullah Mubiru.

Against the run of play, Kibuli doubled the lead 20 minutes later.

Striker, Steven Desse Mukwala’s telling ball in the area beat the entire London College backline only to be met by the gifted left footed Allan Jolly Okello for Kibuli’s second and final goal on the day.

London College, who had only 12 players available for the game after majority of their players failed the screening tests were unfortunate to finish the game with 10 men.

Robinson Okoya injured his left knee after an awkward landing from a fair challenge by Wahab Gadaffi.

Later as the game neared climax, London College goal keeper, also the team skipper, Farouk Yawe Ssebanja was booked for a bringing down pacy striker, Godfrey Bayo just outside the 18 yard mark.

The victory for Kibuli takes them to 6 points from two games after the opening 4-0 victory over Kaberamaido on Monday.

The other game played at the Seminary play ground witnessed another favourite, St Mary’s College, Kitende win 4-0 over Arua’s Mvara S.S.

Lanky forward, Alfred Leku, a former Kibuli S.S player scored a brace with the other goals coming from Muhammed Shaban.

The official opening game shall be played on Thursday afternoon when the host school of the 2015 edition, Duhaga S.S entertain Kakungulu Memorial at the Boma stadium in the heart of Hoima town.

The match will be attended by the country number one citizen, President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta, who is on a one day visit of the area, as invited by Area M.P Henry Muganwa Kagura.

This is the 30th edition of the schools’ football championship and only the 23rd time it is running under the Coca cola sponsorship.

Over 1200 players are participating in the event that will last for a fortnight.
