Ex-Blackburn defender Aaron Makoena is on the verge of joining one of the big clubs in the Tanzania Vodacom Premier League.

Tanzania’s sports blog Bin Zubeiry reports that the ex-Bafana Bafana star who played for among others Portsmouth and Ajax is set to have a career in Tanzania.

“Makoena is here specifically on a programme,” said Kalule. “He is likely to join one of the big clubs here but that will be revealed in the near future,” he added.

Current champions Yanga, Simba and Azam are all targets for the big South African.

Efforts to talk to Kalule were futile as his known phone numbers were off. The former Police FC striker is responsible for moves of star players to the Tanzanian league including Liberian striker Kpah Sherman who plays at Yanga and former Azam forward from Haiti Preux Leonel.
