Former Tanzania Vodacom Premier League champions Simba have confirmed parting ways with Ugandan internationals Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma and Joseph Owino.
In an interview with Kawowo Sports from his base in Tanzania, Club Secretary Stephen Ally confirmed the developments.
“It true,” he said. “Sserunkuma and Owino are free to join any other clubs. We thank them for their services and wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” he added.
Sserunkuma had earlier through his official twitter handle declared that his agent, Simba and himself have mutually agreed to end the contract.
“Today, Simba FC, me and my agent have decided to mutually terminate my employment contract,” read the tweet.
The news was later confirmed by his agent Ken Joseph who according to Goal.com Kenya said the striker was tired of warming the bench at the Msimbazi.
The former Express FC, Victors FC, Nairobi City Stars and Gor Mahia FC signed for Simba in December last year on a one year deal but has failed to establish himself at the club making just 17 appearances; most off the bench scoring just five goals in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Joseph Owino made the statement of departure from Simba on his Facebook timeline.
Let me take this honour to thank all the Simba fans and the entire Simba management for the time I’ve spent at the club. As life is full of changes, I think it’s time for me to move on for greater horizons in my career. I wish u all the best .SIMBA NGUVU MOJA
Owino re-signed for Simba in August 2013 on a two year deal which was due to expire in three months’ time.
The former SC Villa and URA FC defender was in his second stint at the club after featuring for the side between 2009 and 2011.
He also previously played for Azam FC after leaving Simba in 2011.
In other news from the 2014 Mapinduzi Cup winners, another Ugandan Simon Sserunkuma has also been released though it’s yet to be confirmed.
The midfielder joined Simba less than four months ago. If true, it leaves defender Murushid Jjuuko and Emma Okwi as the only two Ugandans at the club.
