Soana FC 2-1 KCC FC

Soana FC may have dropped to the relegation zone but kept their survival hopes in the Uganda Premier League after beating KCC FC 2-1 at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

Hamis Kitagenda gave the hosts a deserved lead in the first half from the penalty spot after Michael Birungi fouled in the area before Edmond Kakembo made it 2-0 after the break.

With minutes ticking close to full time, Paul Mucureezi gave the visitors a ray of hope with a goal but it could only end as a consolation.

Victory implies Soana wins their second game on the bounce after beating Rwenshama 3-2 on Tuesday and tie with Kira Young on 31 points.

Soana drop to 14th on the log with Kira assuming 13th due to a better goal difference and victory in their last fixture against Police FC may keep them up incase other results involving fellow relegation candidates go their way.
