Uganda’s celebrated kick boxer, Moses ‘Of Uganda’ Golola took just 50 seconds to knock out Thailand born fighter, Wathaporn Kamunstorn at the Kati Kati gardens in Kampala.
After a promising start where the lanky Wathaporn had managed to land a kick onto the Ugandan prized fighter, Golola was targeting for that ‘lucky punch’.
Indeed it was to come moments later. The vocal fighter afforded two kicks in a ruthless attack as the Thai kick boxer quickly fought back with a weak right kick.

At this time, Golola counteracted with a right kick and a strong jab that narrowly missed before the left cross sent the opponent to the canvas meanwhile the executor’s force of inertia was held by the ring ropes.
Kamunstorn lay unconscious for close to 10 minutes as he visibly struggled to catch his breathe.

The first aid team rushed to the ring meanwhile Golola danced amidst the cheering audience.
At this moment, part of the crowd were chanting wildly as others feared for Wathaporn’s life.
I thank God for this victory. I am the true rock boom. Like David Vs Goliath, the person with the best weapon always wins. I did not go to Mabira for nothing. I thank the Kick boxing officials, my trainers, my promoter, the fans and the media.
Golola remarked in a complete mixture of personalities and issues.
At one stage he attacked fellow kick boxers, Ronald Mugula and Titus Tugume.
He labeling Mugula a chapati dealer and he challenged Tugume, who was part of the crowd to first get assurance (in writing) from his wife before he sought for the much awaited re-match.
For this victory, Golola becomes the new World Kick boxing Federation (WKF) K1 champion in the light weight category.

He thus improves his personal record to 26 fights, 20 victories (15 of these knock outs) and 6 losses Kamunstorn has now fought 71 fights, 52 victories (25 knock outs) and now 19 losses.
Fixed or Lucky Punch Knock Out:
Majority of the fans were still positioning themselves on how to get the best glimpse of the two fighters when they realized the Thai was down and dead.
Like many Golola bouts, this fight too has since left lots of debates among the kick boxing fraternity.
This is comedy and it must have been a fore-gone conclusion from the organizers. It pains to pay money and you never get any worth out of it
A disgruntled fan identified as Ssebadukka cried out.
Rachael Mirembe of Nansana, who watched the fight live at Kati Kati hailed Golola for the brave move of going for a knock out.
Uganda Kick boxing president, Hassan Ssekirime described Golola’s victory as ‘a well timed strategy’.
Golola came with a strategy to finish off the opponent and he got it with the lucky punch just like he did with Tugume
Ssekirime told Kawowo Sports.
Other Fights:
Earlier before the main fight, there were several boxing bouts and one main kick boxing contest where Hamza Fungu overcame the bearded Sharif Bukenya.
There was controversy as the much hyped light heavy weight national title fight David Basajja Mivule and Charles Kakande did not kick off for unclear reasons.
