1st Leg: Saturday May 23, 2015
Rwanda Vs Uganda Kobs – Amahoro stadium
Ahead of the first leg game against Rwanda’s Junior Wasps, Uganda Kobs may receive a boost of over six foreign based players.
The players include El Merriekh’s first choice goalie Jamal Salim who is already in the country, Lebanon based duo of Richard Kasagga and Denis Iguma, CS Sfaxien’s Yunus Sentamu and the Kenya based duo of Aucho Khalid and Shafiki Batambuze.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether all these will be available for the first leg fixture due next Saturday at Amahoro.
The Tunisian league in which Sentamu plies his trade ends on June 2, a few days after even the first leg is done while Gor Mahia may hold on to Aucho who is in good form as they have a league game against Muhoroni Youth on Sunday 24 a day after the game at Amahoro.
The same applies to Shafik Batambuze’s Sofapaka who will be facing Tusker.
Uganda takes on Rwanda’s Junior Wasps in a two legged qualifier which doubles as both Africa U23 Championship due to be held in Senegal later this year as well as the 2016 Olympic Qualifier for the top three finishers in Senegal.
Meanwhile, the Kobs’ preparation continued on Sunday at Phillip Omondi stadium with over 33 players taking part including KCC FC’s trio of Martin Kizza, Tom Masiko and Timothy Awani who missed out last weekend.
