National Council of Sports has hailed the Uganda Swimming Federation for the achievements it’s acquired in the sport and also from being a scandal free and model body.
“It feels honoured to be here with Uganda’s team that returned with medals at the CANA Zone IV swimming championships having represented the nation and returned with this glory even under the circumstances that they faced while taking part in this event,” David Katende, the assistant general secretary of National Council of Sports while hosting the team to a brief luncheon recently at Lugogo. “The USF is one of the model associations in the country that is scandal free and has shown that it has administered the sport well.”
Uganda finished 8th out of 9 countries with Zimbabwe, Malawi and Swaziland missing out Uganda bagged 1 silver and 6 bronze. South Africa won the championship with 2,490 points while Angola and Zambia finished second and third respectively with 2,143 and 1,817 points each.
Uganda will host the first CANA Zone III swimming championships in December this year where countries from this zone will participate they include Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Sudan and the hosts.
