Muzamir Mutyaba came off the bench to score the winning goal as Uganda Kobs beat Rwanda U23 2-1 in a CAF U23 Africa Championship qualifier at Amahoro stadium.

Farouk Miya opened the scoring for the visitors from a free kick after ten minutes before Dominique Savio Nshuti equalized for the hosts on the hour mark before Mutyaba made it 2-1 ten minutes later to win it for Uganda.

Kawowo Sports’ Ismael Kiyonga caught the game at Amahoro and rates each of the Kobs’ players that featured in the game.

Jamal Salim 7.0: He read the game very well especially with crosses and made two match winning saves in the 13th minute off Isaie Songa shot and then in the 55th minute when he saved Yannick Mukunzi header. He could do nothing with the goal he conceded.

Joseph Nsubuga 4.0: He had a tough afternoon against Dominique Savio Nshuti and offered less going forward when the Kobs were in possession.

Brian Ochwo 6.0: He was caught out of possession for the goal Kobs conceded but fought for every ball and despite his height; he made won a number of aerial battles.

Shafiki Bakaki 7.5: He was Uganda’s best defender on the day. Read the game well and made timely tackles to stop the Rwandan attacks led by Isaie Songa. No doubt, he is a big asset to the team

Ibrahim Kiyemba 6.0: He at times failed to mark his opponents and looked timid especially in the opening minutes and then twenty five minutes after recess. He however gave Uganda good option in the air.

Derrick Tekwo 7.5: He was the team’s best player in the centre of the pack. His tackles were well timed and fought for every ball. A lion’s heart for the youthful side.

Tom Masiko 5.0: He had a quiet game by his standard.  He failed to assert any authority in midfield. No wonder, he was replaced after 65 minutes.

Keziron Kizito 6.0: His ball distribution in the centre of the pack was fine but had a quiet game as compared to his known game.

Farouk Miya 6.0: Bar the goal he scored, the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) wasn’t at his best. Nevertheless, his brilliance from the set piece on the 10th minute set the ball rolling for the Kobs.

John Semazzi 6.0: He struggled as the lead striker especially in the first half but looked so much improved after the break when he opted to play a bit wide. His beautiful assist after beating Rwanda skipper Emery Bayisenge was a joy to watch.

Erisha Ssekisambu 4.0: The SC Villa forward had a bad at office. He looked intimidated by the crowd and rarely made good control of the game.

SUBSITITUTES: 

Martin Kizza 5.5: His pace and trickery troubled the Rwanda backline but was wasteful in possession.

Muzamir Mutyaba 7.0: His introduction calmed the situation for the Kobs when Rwanda was on top of their game. He won the game with a calm goal after Semazzi’s well laid assist.

Tadeo Lwanga 5.0: Replaced Keziron with five minutes to go when Micho opted to thwart Rwanda’s midfield play.

Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic 7.5: His starting eleven was okay and made a tactical substitution when he withdrawn Sekisambu for Mutyaba who won the game for the visitors.
