KAVC’s coach Dannie Okwee heaped praise on his players after a spirited 3-2 ( 25-15,25-21, 21-25,20-25, 15-8) victory over a resilient Nkumba side in five set thriller on Saturday Night at Lugogo.
With sets tied and four minutes into the decisive set, KAVC’s hitter Daudi Okello made a point to take make the scores 8-4, forcing his teammates celebrate.
To their coach Dannie Okwee it was not over. He screamed at his players to take up their positions and continue playing hard for remaining points.
The players heard the message, rallied and took the decisive set 15-8, posting their first win of the season.
Dannie Okwee expressed delight to his team’s performance by branded his players ‘no joking subjects’.
“It was a team effort. The players fought back every time we went down. My players are not joking subjects” Okwee told Kawowo Sports after the game.
KAVC’s Jensen Chesist and coach Dannie Okwee were facing off with their former club Nkumba which they helped to win the league in 2011.
