The Uganda National Handball League fixtures were played at Nelson Mandela stadium handball facility for the first time this season.

In the eagerly awaited women’s fixture of the day, Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) lost to the Prison Spears 20-32 in an exciting game to pin a double misery after another victory at the recently concluded Inter-Forces games that were played at Makerere University.

“After the management of the stadium offered the federation (Handall Federation) the facilities, we shall host all the league games from here (Namboole)” Handball Federation secretary, Augustine Carl Mugalu confirmed to Kawowo Sports.

There were four men games played. Prison Spears overcame Police Kifaru 38-25 and Police Metro revenged with a similar score line victory over Kakungulu Memorial.

UPDF men narrowly edged Arrows 26-24 with a meager 2 goals difference in a physical fixture whilst Prison Spears were 42-27 victors over Ever Green.

The earlier games were played at Nkumba University handball courts before the Namboole management rescued the situation.

The league resumes this weekend 30th May, 2015 at Namboole.

Uganda Handball Federation meets the cost of officiating team and the rent of the facility.
