The euphoria that surrounded Nakivubo stadium at the last signal of referee Ronald Kirangwa’s last whistle when Wakiso United edged Kyebando Hearts 2-0 was unexplainable.
The players and team officials from the victorious side were over ridden with uncontrolled exhilaration of having earned their side a hard earned promotion to the second highest league to the elite premier division.
Team skipper, Ronnie Kyambadde led by example as he opened the scoring with the simplest of all finishes – a well tapped 20th minute effort at the far post following the donkey work of Alex Semuyaba on the right.
Midfielder Allan Kasule easily maintained possession and his perfectly weighted delivery mid way the first half was put to waste by Ivan Ssemaganda.
Kyebando’s only attempt at goal was when Arnold Ssembuya had a penalty appeal turned down 5 minutes to the half time recess.
On resumption, Denis Ssenyonga volleyed home from 20 yards after the Kyebando backline hesitated to clear the ball to safety and from this moment, the game was done and dusted.
Attempts by the Kyebando coach to make a few changes could not yield any dividends and Wakiso United smiled home victorious as they await the FUFA big league challenge.

Wakiso United is the Kampala region champion champion that joins the FUFA Big league for the upcoming season – 2015/16 alongside, Citizens (Western Region), Lira United (Northern), Onduparaka (West Nile), Masavu (Buganda).
The three other regions’ slots are yet to be determined. Eastern play their finals on Wednesday at Mbale recreational stadium.
Kitara and North East regional play offs will be held next week.
