Martin Obadiah Kibirige has formerly featured at St Mathias Kalemba SS in Nazigo before shifting base to Kampala based Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga and finally Bukedea comprehensive school where he won the East African title in 2025 and played at the ISF Schools’ world cup in China.
Zanzibar premier league entity Malindi Football Club signed yet another Ugandan, Martin Obadiah Kibirige to their ranks.
The 18-year-old holding midfielder signed a two-year deal with Zanzibar’s most successful football club.

This comes barely a fortnight after the signing of left back Jovan Sempasa.
Kibirige has formerly featured at St Mathias Kalemba SS in Nazigo before shifting base to Kampala based Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga.
He joined Bukedea comprehensive school where he won the East African title in 2025 and played at the ISF Schools’ world cup in China.

At the elementary level, Kibirige studied at Bukandula Church of Uganda Primary School in Gomba District.
He has also been attached to Ssemilena Soccer Academy and is represented by Livingstone Sports Agency.

Malindi Football Club was started in 1942 (84 years ago).
Christened as the “Wazee wa Funguni”, Malindi FC is arguably Zanzibar’s most decorated club having won the Zanzibar premier league title in 1959, 1964, 1989, 1990 and 1992.
They also have two league titles in Tanzania; 1989 and 1992; two Zanzibar FA cups (1994 and 2019), one Tanzania FA Cup (1993) as well as one Mapinduzi cup (2007).
