Eastern sports press Association (ESPA) Best Sportsmen:

  • April Winner: Halima Nambozo (Table Tennis)
  • May Winner: Isa Yahaya Ofubo (Karate)

Eastern sports press Association voted Mbale Progressive Table Tennis star, Halima Nambozo and Karate player, Isa Yahaya Ofubo for the months of April and May best sports Personalities’ award respectively.

Nambozo emerged the most excellent performing sports player to a level she garnered 255 votes against Oxford Rugby School team with 245 votes, Amus College School with 220 votes.

 Halima Nambozo won a table tennis individual gold medal during National senior secondary schools all ball games tournament held at Mbarara.

She guided Mbale Progressive school  girls Table Tennis Team win a T T-trophy in the same event henceforth emerging the best Table Tennis Athlete for the tournament.

Nambozo is now set to defend her title in the next coming East Africa senior secondary school Table Tennis events in Rwanda in 2015

Meanwhile, Isa Yahaya Ofubo won the ESPA sports personality award for the month of May 2015.

Ofubo who won a bronze during East African Karate championship held at Freedom city Hotel Kampala,is to represent Uganda in the forth coming all Africa Karate cup in South Africa this September 2015.

He collected 300 votes defeating Uganda Kobs Captain Farouk Miya and Jinja Mc Fc both scored 275 and 265 votes respectively.

Simon Munyenye former 1960s prisons and Uganda Cranes central defender and coach Mbale municipal council F.C on record was voted the first ever ESPA sports Legend during the ESPA monthly Assembly held on Thursday June 4th 2015
