Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) retained the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Volleyball Tournament on Sunday in Rwanda.

The script was the same as that of 2014, when the Rwandans defeated Nairobi water in straight sets (23-25, 22-25, 20-25). RRA were too much for Sport-S who were appearing at the Championship for the first time as the former took the semifinal with too much ease 3-0 (20-25, 21-25, 22-25).

Nairobi water on the other hand again denied Vision Volleyball camp a chance to make it to the finals with a 3-1 win. And with a fellow Ugandan team on the other side of the net, VVC were to go a step further than last year.

The Namboole based side defeated Sport-S 3-1 (26-24, 25-19, 24-26, 25-15) to grab bronze.

The tournament since 1995 is played in commemoration of the 46 (known) members of the volleyball fraternity including players, coaches and administrators as well as other Rwandans who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
