6th Junior Woodball Tourney:
13th June 2015 – At Mukono High School
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has increased the sponsorship of the prestigious 2015 ICPAU Juniors Woodball Championship from U.sh 7.3M to U.shs 7.9M.
ICPAU unveiled the deal on Monday, June 8th , 2015, at the Uganda Woodball Federation’s (UWbF) Nakulabye office, Kampala.
ICPAU, one of the biggest sponsors of the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) since 2011 is also the sole sponsor of the annual Juniors event.
UWbF President Paul Mark Kayongo hailed the continued support the Institute has rendered to the development and promotion of woodball in the country.
The appeal for woodball and competitiveness among the schools has increased tremendously since ICPAU came on board
Kayongo said.
As for the sponsored event, thirty (30) schools are already set for the 6th edition of the ICPAU Juniors Woodball Championship slated for June 13, 2015 at Mukono High School, Mukono.
The annual tournament has this year attracted new entrants from Secondary schools category – Seeta High, Our Lady of Africa SS Namilyango, Paul Mukasa SS, Mpoma Boys, Mpoma Girls, Luzira SS, Semuto SS while in the Primary schools category – Nkoyoyo Boarding PS, Igma Infants, Seeta Junior and Mukono Boarding among others.
Leading the entry list are the primary schools title defenders St. Kizito Bugolobi which lifted the overall trophy last year with 296 strokes and 2nd placed St. Francis Junior Budo who amassed 304 strokes.
Last edition’s secondary schools defending champions, Ndejje Day Vocational SS (270 strokes), deputy champions Kyambogo College (272 strokes) and third placed King’s College Budo (286) already registered for the 6th edition and roaring to go for the throne.
Ndejje Day Vocational SS is the most celebrated team in the history of the ICPAU Junior Championship now entering the 6th year after winning the trophy a record four years in arrow.
The other teams that have been consistent campaigners for the crown with impressive performances in the annual tournament include St. Francis Junior P/S Budo, Nalinya Lwantale Girls Primary, Happy Hours PS Bombo, Kyambogo College School, King’s College Budo, Motherwell Junior School – Mutungo and Trinity College Nabbingo among others.
