Pre Qualifiers: Kick-off (Friday, 19th June 2015)

Grand Finals: Sat, 26th September 2015 – Lugogo Indoor Stadium

The 2015 Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) biggest individual event, national pool championship is set to attract over 10240 players with a total budget of Ushs 600M to run the entire tournament in the organization and logistical set up.

Speaking at the tourney’s launch at the Moringa head offices in Bugolobi, on Wednesday, Isaac Ssekaasi, the sponsorship manager at Nile Breweries Limited promised an improved set up with a surprise brand of car for the winner.

Like the previous events, the winner will carry home a trophy, medal, U.shs 2M, will be sponsored for an international tournament and a new brand of car

Ssekasi was flanked by the Association president, Farouk Kisuze Wamala, tournament secretary, Paul Kayanja and the mouth piece, Michael Mawanda.

The Pre-qualifiers shall start on Friday, 19th June 2015 in the different regions – Northern, Eastern, Makindye and Kampala Central.

320 outlets all over the country shall engage in the qualifiers, including Moroto for the very fast time.

PAU president, Kisuze noted.

The launch was attended by the reigning national champion, Fahad ‘The Bee’ Ssewankambo and three of his other Skin Samona teammates, Alfred ‘Black Sheep’ Gumikiriza, Sula Matovu and Amos Ndyagumanawe.

2009 winner, Fred ‘Bonde’ Namanya was also present at the launch.

All willing participants have to buy 4 beers as a registration procedure. We shall need 128 players at the national grand finals in Lugogo on 26th September 2015. 120 will qualify from the 320 playing centers across the country plus the 8 top seeded players who do not play in the qualifiers

The lucky 8 top seeded players are Alfred Gumikiriza (1), Fahad Ssewankambo (2), Amos Ndyagumanawe (3), Sula Matovu (4), Fred Namanya (5), Navy Matovu (6), Ivan Kanyesigye (7) and Ezra Kaggwa (8).

The defending champion, Ssewankambo challenged the sponsors to further assist in the running expenses of the Nile Special branded car for the winner.
