Uganda’s Duncan Mugabe, together with his team-mate Burundi’s Hassan Ndayishimiye, have stormed the finals of the Mozambique F2 Futures finals at the Clube de Tenis de Maputo in Mozambique.
Mugabe and his Burundian team-mate beat South Africa’s Joshua Luck and USA’s Evan Song in the semi-finals 7-6(3),6-2 to storm their second final in a space of two weeks and will now play USA’s duo of Evan King and Anderson Reed, who are the top seeds in the men’s doubles at this ITF tournament.
Mugabe, lost also in the men’s singles Zimbabwe’s Benjamin Lock in the quarter-finals 7-6(5), 6-1
Last week Mugabe and Ndayishimiye won the men’s doubles at the Mozambique F1 Futures and could be on the verge of completing a double again on the same court.
Mugabe is on a Olympic Solidarity Programme that is funded by the Uganda Olympic Committee to enable him to continue his goal of playing at the Olympics next year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
