Two hundred and thirty five boys and girls from various schools in Kampala were bigger winners when the two day Annual School’s tennis tournament concluded over the weekend at Lugogo tennis club.

The annual tournament had girls and boys playing tennis in ages U-8 to U-18 with various students from the participating schools winning trophies in their age classes.

Winnie Namaganda, was the girls U-8 winner from Naguru Infant Primary School while Annet Ngoga, from Shimoni Demonstration School was the U-10 winner.

The boys U-8 crown went to Allan Pangasi with the U-10 being won by Troy Zziwa from Naguru Infant Primary School and Nakasero Primary School. The overall winners for primary schools that is girls and boys was Nakasero Primary School.

The overall winners in Boys secondary schools was Kibuli Senior Secondary School while the girls crown went to Saint Mary’s College Namagunga. This year’s edition of the tournament was organized by the Uganda Tennis Association and funded by Uganda Charity Trust Fund

“On top of working on a training program for schools, UCTF we shall be here again sponsoring this tournament,” Henry Muyanja, the operations manager at UCTF said at the award ceremony. “It’s through these schools program that we identify new tennis talent.”
