2015 Netball Diamond Challenge Tournament:
Malawi 51-40 Uganda
South Africa 63-38 Zambia
The Malawi Queens got off to a winning start 51-40 over the Uganda She Cranes at the opening game of the 2015 Diamond Netball Challenge tourney in the South African coastal town of Durban on Tuesday night.
A player of the match performance from team captain, Peace Proscovia could not inspire the Uganda She Cranes against Malawi Queens.
Malawi led throughout the quarters winning the first 15-11, before stretching the lead 30-18.
The She Cranes mounted a come back closing the gap 40-30 by the close of the third quarter business.
However, The Queens had the last smile winning 51-40. Peace, a goal shooter with Loughborough Lightening in the English Netball premier league led by example scoring 33 goals in Uganda’s loss.

For her personal exploits, Peace won the player of the match accolade that comes along with a R3000 cheque.(shs 800,000).
Host nation, South Africa picked a memorable 63-38 starting victory over Zambia.
The tournament will be based on round robin with top teams playing in the finals on Friday this week.
It is intended to sharpen the four teams to represent Africa in the World cup.
The Diamond Challenge is a competition featuring Africa’s representatives at the August 7 to 16 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
The build-up competition features Malawi, Zambia, Uganda and hosts South Africa.
The She Cranes will thereafter proceed to Namibia for the June 27 to July 4 Africa Netball Championships in Windhoek.
