Kenya defeated Cameroon 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-22) not only to get closer to a record ninth African Women Volleyball Championship title, but also qualify for their sixth World Cup.

Cameroon came to the game ready to put up a fight and see themselves into the finals. However, Malkia Spikers coach, David Lung’aho was the better tactician as the side utilized their service, block and attack to overcome the 2013 silver medalists.

Kenya and Algeria will play for Gold on Saturday in a repeat of the 2011 games that Kenya won 3-1.

To make the finals, Algeria defeated Senegal 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-22), the first time the West African were tasting defeat at the event.

Before the final on June 20, Senegal will play Cameroon for the bronze medal. When the two sides met in the preliminaries, Senegal came from two sets down to win 3-2 (20–25, 25–27, 25–16, 25–20,15–12).

Tunisia beat Mauritius 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-14) in the classification matches from fifth to eighth positions.

Morocco picked their first victory against Botswana 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-12) also in classification matches from fifth to eighth positions.

Now Morocco will play Tunisia for fifth and sixth position on Thursday in what is a repeat of their pool tie which ended 3-1 (24–26, 25–17, 25–21, 25–13) in favor of Tunisia.

Botswana will also take on Mauritius on the same day, the two sides were also in the same pool and Botswana won 3-1 (2–25, 25–23, 23–25, 15–25)

June 18: Classification matches

Position 5 & 6: Morocco vs Tunisia – 2pm

Position 7 & 8: Botswana vs Mauritius – 4pm

June 20: Finals and Bronze medal match

Bronze medal match: Cameroon vs Senegal – 2pm

Final: Kenya vs Algeria – 4pm
