The year was 2013 January when Herman Wasswa crossed from SC Villa to rivals KCC FC.

On Friday the former Masaka LC striker mutually agreed not to renew his contract with KCC FC. There reports indicating that he may be headed to Kenya Premier League side; Sofapaka though it’s believed URA FC and SC Villa are eyeing his signature.

Wasswa’s contract ended in May and he says it was a pleasure playing for one of the biggest clubs not only in Uganda but the region.

“I must admit that I have enjoyed my time as a KCC FC player,” he told Kawowo Sports. “It’s been a pleasure working with the coaches, players and the management of the club. And to the fans, who were special,” he added.

During his time at KCC, Wasswa has won two league titles (2012/13 & 2013/14) and one Mapinduzi Cup (2013) but also played at two Uganda Cup finals losing to URA in 2014 and SC Villa in 2015.

On a personal note, the soft spoken goal grabber won the 2012/13 league top scorers’ award when he finished the campaign with 20 goals. Wasswa was joint top scorer with URA’s Feni Ali on seven goals in the 2014 Uganda Cup competition.
