CHAN 2016 QUALIFIER (FIRST LEG): HT: Tanzania 0-1 UGANDA
Striker, Erisa Ssekisambu’s goal after 39 minutes has given Uganda Cranes the cutting edge over Tanzania Taifa Stars at the Amann Stadium after the opening half of the first leg of Championship of African Nations (CHAN) 2016 qualifier .
Ssekisambu fired the Cranes ahead after the assist from Robert Sentongo.
Earlier, the hosts who have been on the back foot for long spells of the half had pinned Uganda with Frank Damayo missing a glorious chance when Friday Kevin laid ball for him.
Uganda has been the better side on the day winning four corners to the host’s one that came after 39 minutes.
The host’s goal keeper, Deogratius Munishi saved a goal bound shot from Uganda lead striker, Robert Sentongo in the 12th minute in one of the early scoring moments.
Uganda Cranes’ head coach, Milutin Micho Sredojevic named an all attack minded side with four strikers in the starting IX.
Debutant goal keeper, James Alitho has had a great first 45 minutes of action.
